All-Ireland u11-u19 & Novice Cross-Country

On Saturday 9th December Togher athletes competed in the 2nd leg of the All-Ireland Cross-Country championships, which also incorporated the Novice championships. Brian Murray led the u15 team home with a fantastic 30th place finish in a very competitive race in which the team came 9th. The u17 team didn’t have one of their better days with a 9th place finish and were led home by Adam Kelleher in 58th place. Shane Coffey was the only Togher representative in the boy’s u19 race finishing in 36th place. Pride of place goes to the clubs Novice team who dominated the huge field to finish 1st team. Simon Doherty had a solid run to lead the team home in 13th position. Other team scorers included Elton Heffernan in 23rd, Steven Macklin in 30th and Eoin O’ Sullivan in 31st. Peter Fennell, Tim Healy, Araon Hornibrook and Javier Garcia all had solid runs also. This was a huge achievement from the team to finish in 1st place.
