International race walking event in Guadix Spain

Togher athletes competed at an international race walking event in Guadix Spain last weekend and had some great results. The race was helt at altitude and in very warm conditions. Robert Heffernan had a superb walk finishing in 2nd place and Tim Healy was a great 13th. In the junior race Robert O Neill was a superb 4th.
Meanwhile, all the clubs athletes are busily preparing for the forthcoming cross-country season. The juniors/juveniles are training very well under the guidance of coach Steven Macklin and head for their pre season training camp at Banna Beach on Friday 18th September. The senior athletes are also training very well under the guidance of "gaffer" Eoin O' Sullivan. The opening race will be the county u12-u18 cross-country championships on October 4th.
