All-Ireland u12-u18 & Junior & Senior Cross-Country

Togher athletes competed in the All-Ireland Even Age Cross-Country Championships in Dungarvan on Sunday 26 November. It was held in the grounds of St Augustines College on a flat and mucky course. Irelands top young athletes gathered for a great days racing. Togher athletes returned with 4 All-Ireland medals. The u16 team finished 7th led home by Michael Carroll. Both Michael and Adam Kelleher helped the Cork team to finish 3rd. Cullen Lynch and Robert O Neill both competed in their first ever All-Irelands in the u14 race and ran superb. Robert won a medal with the Cork team who came 3rd. Star performance of the day came from Craig Murphy in the u18 race. Craig has had a fantastic season winning the UK Cross-Challenge u17 race in Birmingham recently and it continued on Sunday. Competing against the best athletes in the country he crossed the line in 1st place after a hard battle with Michael Mulhare of North Laois AC. Craig was delighted with his performance and all club members present witnessed a great day for the club. In the Junior mens race Shane Coffey 25th and Peter Fennell 26th both ran solid races.
