Dublin Graded meet
Date: 23/4/09
Craig Murphy opened up his track season on Wednesday night with a superb run over 800m and a huge new PB. Craig has raced just once since the European Cross-Country championships in December and the break from racing has done him the world of good. Feeling fresh and revitalized Craig opened up his season at the Dublin Graded meet in Santry. Craig has traditionally opened up his season over 800m and in 2008 clocked 2.00 and in 2007 1.59. Having just completed a very strong base phase he towed the line in the "A" 800m against some top 800m guys. Craig ran superbly throughout and crossed the line in 3rd place with a huge new PB of 1.55.16. This augers well for Craigs preferred racing distances of 1500m and 3000m. He races next over 1500m at the Munster Junior, u23 & Senior T&F championships on May 4th.
