National Senior Indoor T&F championships

Togher athletes competed at the National Senior Indoor T&F championships in Belfast at the weekend and it proved to be very successful with Robert Heffernan and Marian Heffernan both winning gold medals and some other good performances from Tim Healy and Ronan Foley.
The National Senior Indoor T&F championships took place in Belfast at the weekend and proved a very successful championships for the club. Robert Heffernan easily retained his indoor 5km title winning in 19.09.56. His wife Marian also had a great weekend winning the 400m by over a second with a time of 54.00. Marian is in good form and looks set to have a great outdoor season. Tim Healy had a great race in the 5km walk also coming 8th in 22.55.42. Finally Ronan Foley had a great race in the 60m heats recording a time of 8.18.
Next week the action turns to cross-country again with the National Senior & Junior Inter Club Cross-Country championships taking place in Santry on Saturday. The club will have a junior and senior team in action with the juniors looking to win the clubs first ever junior inter club title. The team won the Munster schools senior title last week with ease and have Danny Mullins and Ian Hartnett to add to the team. Best of luck to both teams in action.
