Dublin Graded Meet

Togher athletes took part in the latest leg of the Dublin Graded Meet series and the trip proved very worthwhile, with 14 athletes competing and 13 achieving new personal bests. The meet was held at Irishtown Stadium in nice conditions. First into action was David Kelly in his first ever 400m. Dave ran really well to run 59.67. 800m specialist Alan O Brien also ran the 400m coming away with a new PB of 55.13. In the 3000m Alex Kelly kindly paced Jamie Sullivan for 5 laps of the race and led Jamie to a huge new PB of 10.53 with Alex also recording a new PB with 10.47. Finally the mile races took place with Brian Murray having a great run in the B race with a new PB og 4.34. In the C race Ian Hartnett continued his fine track season with a new PB of 4.43. He was followed closely by super runs from Emmet Bracken 4.51 PB, Adam Kelleher 4.57 PB and Mark Seacy 5.02 PB. In the D race there were more great performances from Eoin Bourke 5.09 PB, John Dorgan 5.14 PB, Billy Murphy 5.25 PB, Cillian Fleming 5.28 and Alan Ring 5.41 PB. All in all a fantastic night for all the athletes.
This weekend sees the Cork City Sports take place at the Mardyke. Robert Heffernan lines up in the 3km walk, Marian Andrews in the 400m, Craig Murphy in the 3000m and Peter Hanrahan, Cullen Lynch, Patrick Coleman and Brian Murray all in the junior 1500m. Best of luck to all
