UL T&F meet and the Munster Senior T&F championships

Togher athletes competed in both the UL T&F meet and the Munster Senior T&F championships last weekend. On Saturday in UL Kevin Walsh had a great win in the 400m in 49.54 and Tadgh O’Callaghan came 3rd in the 1500m in a new personal best time of 3.54. In the Munster Senior championships in CIT on Sunday Togher athletes continued their impressive season. Kevin Walsh again lined up in the 400m and again took the honors in 49.88. Eoin Joyce ran a super race in the 200m to take silver in 22.67. A special mention is deserved of Frank Doherty on his superb coaching of the sprints group and their fine performances so far this season. In the 1500m Eoin O’ Sullivan continued his fine form of late with 8th in the 1500m in 4.04, with Peter Fennell and Shane Coffey running solid races. Congratulations to all the athletes and the attention now focuses on the National Senior Relay championships and the Munster u15-u19 championships on Sunday 24th. Best of luck to all competing.
