All-Ireland u11-u19 & Novice Cross-Country championships

Togher athletes began their 2011 season with a trip to Tullamore for the All-Ireland u11-u19 & Novice Cross-Country championships. The club had a successful day with the mens novice team finishing in 5th place.
The All-Ireland Cross-Country championships were held on a fantastic course in Tullamore which was very well organised. Conditions were good with a fast course. Ruairi Casey competed in the u13 2500m race as part of the Cork team and raced to a superb 44th place finish and he was Corks 3rd scorer where the team came 5th. Emmet Bracken competed in the u17 5000m and finished in a very good 12th and Peter Hanrahan had a good run to finish 12th in u19 race also. The novice mens team finished in 5th place in a very competitive race with over 180 starters. Donal Coakley led the team home with a 23rd place finish and with Shane Coffey, Steven Macklin, Tony Kelleher, Pa Murphy, Jeremy Walsh and Sean O Keeffe all having good runs, the team came 5th.
