Date: 16/5/09
The 2nd day of the Cork u14-u19 T&F championships took place at a wet and windy CIT track on Sunday. Many of the clubs athletes who raced the day before decided to take in an easy recovery run instead, in preparation for the All-Ireland championships. In the 800m races Alan Ring was a fine 2nd u14, Eoin Bourke 1st u15 and Billy Murphy 3rd. In the u17 race Cullen Lynch was a great 1st with Robert O Neill 3rd. Conor O Brien was 1st in the u18 race and in the u19 race Adam Kelleher was 1st and Alan O Brien 3rd. Finally the 3000m races were held in severe rain and here Mark Seacy won his first ever county title winning the u17 race in 10.16, with John Dorgan 3rd and Jamie Sullivan 4th. Andrew O Keeffe had a fine win in the u16 race also.
On the roads recently Togher athletes competed at the BHAA 5km road race in Ringaskiddy. Shane Coffey had a great run to finish 7th in 16.27 and Eoin O Sullivan just behind him in 8th 16.28. Donal Coakley was 17th in 17.27.
