Douglas CS 1st year Cross-Country league final
Date: 14/9/09
The final of the Douglas CS 1st year Cross-Country league was held on Friday and there were some superb performances. Two of the athletes ran two of the fastest ever times on the course placing 5th & 6th respectively on the all-time top 10 list. Winner of the "A" race and new 1st year champion was Jack O Mahony with Jamie O' Connell a fine 2nd and Liam Harris 3rd. The winner of the "B" race was Darragh Nuggent. All in all, the league was a great success with over 100 athletes taking part and with over 20 athletes showing up for the first training session all bodes well for the future in Douglas CS.
This weekend sees the u14-u20 athletes travel to Banna Co. Kerry for their annual pre season training camp and also taking place on the Saturday is the Munster Regional Squad session at Banna. Some of our new young athletes head to Kinsale for the annual open cross-country race on Sunday. Best of luck to all.
