National Senior T&F championships

Robert Heffernan produced an outstanding performance at the National Senior T&F championships at the weekend to record his 8th consecutive win and take the athlete of the meet award and a cheque for €1000. His wife Marian also took home a silver medal in the 400m in a new PB and our young juniors brought home plenty of PB's in the junior 3000m.
The National Senior T&F championships took place in the familiar surroundings of Morton stadium in Santry over the weekend. Performance of the weekend came from Robert Heffernan winning his 8th consecutive title in the 10km walk in 39.07. Robert also took home the athlete of the meet prize and looks all set for Barcelona. His wife Marian Andrews ran a superb 400m to take home silver in a new PB of 53.55.
In the heats on Saturday Tony Kelleher had a fine run in the 800m and Ronan Foley performed well in the 100m and 200m. Donal Coakley ran well for 13th in the 10,000m in 34.01 and Tim Healy was a great 7th in the mens 10km walk. Finally in the junior mens 3000m Ian Hartnett led the club home in his first ever 3000m running a great 9.04, with Cullen Lynch 9.10, Peter Hanrahan 9.15, Emmet Bracken 9.43 and Ian Tobin 9.49. Congrats also to Danny Mullins Bantry 8.56 and Michael O Sullivan 9.18 on their races.
