Date: 12/12/10
Togher athletes competed on the double at Cork IT on Friday, competing at the Cork Schools Invitational Cross-Country and the Floodlight Cross-Country. The clubs athletes did very well at both events dominating the top 10 in each.
The 2nd annual Cork schools invitational cross-country was held at Cork IT over a 1km lap. The 1st year boys team from Douglas CS was just pipped for team gold by 1 point but produced some outstanding running with James Gorton 4th and Daniel Leahy 5th. Other great races came from Alan Morgan, Aidan De Saulles, Jack Twomey and Eoin Noonan. The 2nd/3rd year boys race was held over 2km and here Alan Ring had a fine win with Brendan Couch 3rd, Liam Harris 4th, Jack O Mahony 5th, Jamie O Connell 6th and Declan O Herlihy 7th. Douglas CS easily won the team title. Finally in the 4th/5th/6th year race over 3km Cullen Lynch raced to a fine win with Emmet Bracken 2nd, Ian Tobin 3rd and Mark Seacy 4th.
