Togher athletes had another busy week competing at the National Intermediate Cross-Country championships in Dublin and at the Scottish Indoor 3000m championships in Glasgow. On Sunday last Togher athletes lined up in the National Intermediate Cross-Country championships in ALSAA sports complex in Dublin. The team finished a solid 6th missing some athletes and were led home by Eoin O Sullivan in 25th, Shane Coffey 29th, Donal Coakley 42nd, Pa Murphy 47th and Jeremy Walsh 95th.
At the Scottish Indoor 3000m championships in Kelvin Hall Glasgow seven of the clubs junior athletes took part. In the u17 3000m Ian Hartnett finished a fine 2nd running in his 1st ever indoor race and his 2nd ever 3000m track race. Ian equalled his PB with a 9.03 run, a good time considering he is training for the All-Ireland Schools XC on March 12th. Billy Murphy also had a fine run to take the bronze medal in the u17 race. In the u20 race Danny Mullins ran a fine race winning in a new PB of 8.56, with Cullen Lynch 4th in 9.14, Emmet Bracken 5th 9.16 and other great runs from Cillian Fleming and Jamie Sullivan.
