Togher athletes took part in the latest leg of the Dublin Graded Meet series and the trip proved very worthwhile, with 14 athletes competing and 13 achieving new personal bests.

Togher athletes competed this weekend at the Munster u14-u19 T&F championships in Waterford and the European Team championships in Slovakia. It was a very successful weekend with many medals won and PBs set.

It was a hugely successful weekend for the club with athletes competing in the EAP meet in Namur Belgium, the British Milers Club meet in Watford and the National T&F League in Cork IT.

There was great news for the club today with Marian Andrews being selected on the Irish team for the European Team championships (formerly the European Cup) being held in Slovakia on June 20th/21st. Marian competes in the 400m and 4*400m relay. Also, five Togher athletes have been selected on the Munster team for the Tailteann Schools Interprovincial Games due to be held in Tullamore on June 27th. They include Peter Hanrahan 1500m, Patrick Coleman 1500m S/C, Mark Seacy 1500m S/C, Robert O Neill 2km race walk and Cillian Fleming 2km race walk. Best of luck to all in both competitions.

This weekend sees ten of the clubs athletes competing in Tullamore at the All-Ireland Schools T&F championships. This is without doubt the greatest days track & field competition you can witness in this country. So many future stars will be discovered at these championships.

The busy start to the track & field season continued at the weekend with Togher athletes competing at the 2nd day of the South Munster Schools T&F championships and the Cork Senior T&F championships both held at Cork IT.

Togher athletes had another very successful day at the Munster Junior, u23 & Senior T&F championships held at a windy Cork IT track today. Robert Heffernan ran the worldwide fastest time this year in the 10,000 metre race.

The clubs athletes had a very successful outing at the 1st day of the Cork u14-u19 T&F championships today. Held at sunny Cork IT there was a slight breeze but overall conditions were good for the athletes and indeed the spectators.

Three Togher athletes and coach Steven Macklin head to Bangor in North Wales on Friday for the Schools International Cross-Country event. Ian Hartnett representing Colaiste Daibheid runs in the junior race and Peter Hanrahan & Patrick Coleman both representing Douglas CS race in the inter race. Best of luck to all three athletes.

Togher athletes were out in force on St. Patricks day competing at the annual St Patricks day dash in Cork City and the Rising Sun 4 mile road race in Ballinhassig.

It was a fantastic weekend for Togher athletes with Marian Andrews reaching the semi final of the 400m at the European Indoor T&F championships in Turin, Douglas CS winning their first ever All-Ireland Schools team title and two Togher athletes gaining selection on the Irish Schools Cross-Country team.

Update: More good news from Turin at the European Indoor T&F championships where Marian Andrews led the Irish team to a 4th place finish in the womens 4*400m relay and Peter Hanrahan received a late call up to the Irish Schools Cross-Country team.

It was quiet weekend on the competition front for the club with athletes competing only at the BHAA 5km road race in Cork. Togher had 8 athletes taking part in the race which started in Mahon and ran along the old railway line.
