Ian Hartnett captained the Irish team to a great 2nd place finish at the SIAB Schools International Cross-Country Championships held at a sunny Greenmount College Co. Antrim at the weekend. Ian was the 1st Irish man home in 11th place.Full report

Robert Heffernan and Tony Kelleher flew the clubs flag in Europe this weekend with some superb performances. Robert competed in the Lugano Trophy European Race Walking permit meeting and finished a great 5th in his season opener with a 20km time of 1.20.53 in a tough field. Tony competed at the European Masters Indoor athletics championships in Belgium and finished 10th in a new indoor PB for the 1500m of 4.14. Well done to both on some great performances.14th of March

Togher athletes competed at the National Senior Indoor T&F championships in Belfast at the weekend and it proved to be very successful with Robert Heffernan and Marian Heffernan both winning gold medals and some other good performances from Tim Healy and Ronan Foley.Full report

Togher athletes competed at the Munster Schools & Varsity Cross-Country championships today at Cork IT and produced some outstanding displays. Douglas CS had all 4 teams minor, junior, inter and senior qualify for the All-Ireland championships and both Danny Mullins and Ian Hartnett won individual silver medals in the senior and inter races. Douglas CS also retained the best overall school cup for the 7th consecutive year.Report

Togher athletes had another busy week competing at the National Intermediate Cross-Country championships in Dublin and at the Scottish Indoor 3000m championships in Glasgow. The mens team finished 6th at the National Intermediate Cross-Country and Ian Hartnett, Danny Mullins and Billy Murphy all won medals in Glasgow at Scottish 3000m Indoor championships.Week Roundup

It was a hugely successful weekend for the club with athletes competing at the Antrim International XC in Greenmount College and in the AAI Indoor Games & National Masters Indoor championships in Nenagh. The club won two sets of team medals in Antrim u17 & u20, Tony Kelleher won National Masters Indoor 1500m gold and Marian Heffernan won a superb double gold in Nenagh 200m & 400m with Tim Healy taking a bronze medal in the 3km walk.Full report

Togher athletes began their 2011 season with a trip to Tullamore for the All-Ireland u11-u19 & Novice Cross-Country championships. The club had a successful day with the mens novice team finishing in 5th place.Full report

About the Club
Togher Athletics Club is an athletics club based in Cork City that was founded in 1966. The club is based in Togher but also trains regularly in Maradyke Arena track in the city. Directions and membership information can be found in the membership section.The New Website
The Togher AC website was given a face lift recently. Content is still in the same sections, however the photo albums are now organized by year.
